CSN Get’s Their Man

Local Junior College Hires State Championship Coach

July 6th,

Las Vegas, Nevada

Timing is everything. A year ago at this time, coach Mike Lee was an assistant coach on a Durango team, that hadn’t won a state title in over 15 years. He’s now the head coach at one of the up-and-coming junior college programs on the West Coast. The College of Southern Nevada tabbed Lee to be their next head coach, after a season that saw him lead Durango HS to their 1st state title since 2008. Lee stepped in for HC coach Chad Beeten, who stepped down amid conflict with the administration during the season. Lee now steps in to replace former coach Russell Beck, who led the Coyotes to 31 wins in the program’s first three seasons.
