Portal Poppin’:Rebels Loss Two To Transfer Portal

UNLV’s starting PG has entered the transfer portal

Portal Poppin season is underway and the Rebels were an early victim as freshman Keyshawn Hall, and starting PG Keshon Gilbert announced that they were entering the transfer portal. Hall a 6’7 forward out of Cleveland averaged 5.4ppg this season. Gilbert started 29 games for the Rebels this season, averaging 11.4 points per game, while finishing second on the team in total assist. The Rebels did get a bit of good news as Justin Webster announced that he would be returning to the team.

The Loss of Gilbert leaves a huge hole at the point guard position as the Rebels will also be losing senior PG Jordan McCabe. UNLV finished 19-13 in the second season with coach Kevin Kruger at the helm. The Rebels have signed combo guard Brooklyn Hicks, who should help with some of the ballhandling duties, however overall they will need to find someone to man the PG position.
